Map mode no longer mapping

in my brilliant stupidity (yeah, lets call it that) I must have switched something off (or on) and now when in map mode... it works the same as follow mode.

How do I make map mode map again?

Thank you

If you are walking over existing rooms, that should be intended behavior, as nothing has changed for it to detect a new room.
Though I would be careful, as if you spam directions, or otherwise miss a turn, it could start mapping an errant track.
If it still won't map, try reconfiguring the mapper from the config menu.

I did reconfigure the mapper from the config menu... but nope.. it still didn't fix it.

The dot is tracking my movements, but if I get to the end of the previously mapped area, and want to continue into unmapped areas.. the dot just stays in the last room. Exactly like it would behave if I were in follow mode

HA! now it is working again... it is because I told it to match up the room description in the reconfigure.... when that is not checked it works.

But is it mapping new areas properly?
Sometimes you need to make some triggers that make use of the #TAG commend to help identify room parts for the mapper.
