D?id you try disabling MCCP? I think this is a known problem where some MUDs don't renegotiate the protocol correctly?

disabling MCCP fixes the problem.
It is not a MUD problem I think. There is no problem when I start cmud and connect the MUD. It appears only if I quit from the MUD and then reconnect (even after a long delay). |

I have a hard time accepting that this is an issue on the MUD side when it happens with multiple MUDs and no other client including zMUD has this problem. |

There is a known CMUD 3.x bug with MCCP compression, but as mentioned here it can occur on the server side as well.

I've seen that thread; however, the bug is reproducible 100% of the time on certain muds by simply disconnecting and then attempting to reconnect. No other client I've seen has this problem. If it only happened once in a while on a specific MUD or two, I'd be willing to believe it was a server issue. When it's easily reproduced using CMUD, I tend to believe there's a bug with CMUD, especially when other clients don't have the same problem.
This is actually a semi-big bug, since MCCP support is not a minor feature, and, since the workaround is disabling MCCP compression, it basically means CMUD is currently lacking practical MCCP compression support. |
