Does clicking the window help? I seem to remember this being caused by the MUD sending invalid VT100 codes, so it might help if we had a #debugfile log of this happening.

unfortunatly no... clicking on the window doesn't clear it, and sending a command to the mud, to get a big response, lots of lines and what not... doesn't resolve it either. i'm running "#DEBUGFILE testraw.txt test.txt" for a lil while, till i see the error again, and i'll post the results. thanks!

Hmm, I wasn't able to reproduce the problem by replaying this in a blank window. Maybe it depends upon your exact window layout or something. Is there a specific command that you can use on the MUD to cause this to happen everytime, or is it totally random?

it happens ALL the time... however, i did notice, that i can click on the window, and it would go away, until i got something from the mud, then it would come back.

Clicking on the window forces the window to completely refresh itself, so that should always fix it temporarily. Have you tried changing your window docking layout or undocking your main output window to see if that helps at all? Also, you might want to go into your Preferences and in the Scrollback page of the User Interface, set the Refresh amount to 1 and see if that makes any difference.
Also, if you have any triggers that are using #GAG or #SUB, then that might also be making a difference. Try turning off all of your triggers to see if that helps. That might explain why it only happens in your particular session. |

the main window is undocked, as are all my other windows. i've got no #gags in the main window (tons in my child windows however) and no subs either, eventually i'm going to start adding in psubs, but... thats not for a lil while yet... hehe. i'll try that refresh amount trick, and see if that helps. thankx mr zugg!!

One other thing you can try on your system if you still have those #debugfile files around. Here is how I replay those files on my own system:
This command will cause CMUD to read the test.raw file as if it was raw text from the MUD and will display it on the screen all at once. Try that on your own system and see if that causes the display to get corrupted or not. That will tell me if the problem is with some sort of control codes in the file, or if the problem is somewhere else.
Also, don't forget to try it with your triggers disabled. Just turn off triggers globally in the Options menu at the top and see if it makes any difference. |

Click the little gun to the right of your command line. Instantly disables ALL your triggers.

Or, as I mentioned, there is a command in the Options menu for disabling all triggers...you don't need to do them one by one.
Shaun, is this something that can be seen easily with a new character on Nodeka? If you gave me instructions on where to go and what to type to see the problem happen, then I can try to log in and create a character and try it myself.
Assuming that it still happens when your triggers are turned off. |

ok... it is a trigger of mine. i've had everything off, for a couple hours, and no bug.
on that note, short of working with EVERY trigger one by one, good idea where to start? the #subs, right... i don't think i use any. and no window manipulation. i've a TON of #captures, could that be something to start with? anywho. i'll be messin with things tomorrow more while at work. thanks in advance! =D |
