Quote stripping in poses |
I use : to pose. In Zmud,
:looks around and says "Egad!"
Would result in
Cuprohastes looks around and says "Egad!"
In Cmud, the result is
Cuprohastes looks around and says Egad!
I tried turning the : special character off... but it doesn't seem to have helped. Can anyone explain what's up? |

Yep you need to turn off the option for "Smart Command Line".

: is a special character for the focus window. You can either use ~:looks or change to focus window character under preferences.

I think maybe it's to do with : being a special character? If I type emote looks around and says "Egad!" then it's fine, but if I use the ':' its not.

The tilde ~ before hand should also work, but it's interesting that turning off the special character as they have done doesn't work. It points to bugs in that part of the system though I think it's been mentioned in a couple of threads. In a really recent thread Zugg stated he will be working on the special characters section and more than likely reducing the number of special characters.

After much consideration, tears and attempted suicide via eating pizza, the final solution was...
I set Absolute Options in the Package Preferences and changed : to £
(Which is useful because the fershlugginah MUCK doesn't support sending £ anyway) |

Actually, cuprohastes is correct in reporting this as a bug. With the smart command line, the : is ignored as a focus character if the text after it isn't a valid window name, and it should be sending the text to the MUD verbatim in this case. So stripping the quotes is a bug and has been added to the bug list.
