I don't recall if I ever made this request before - but its been something I've thought would be good for years now.

At the moment, if I change the preferences (such as the font, since thats what I'm doing right now, prompting this post), the changes do not get made until I click the 'close' button in the preferences window.

However, if I am changing fonts, font sizes, colours etc, deciding which one to use, I then have to re-open preferences and re-navigate back to that section of preferences, to make another adjustment. A 'save' button that implements the changes but leaves the prefs window open, would solve that.

Its only a minor thing, but it'd be nice, yanno?

Actually, most preferences take effect right away, which is why the old "Apply" button was removed.

The Fonts seem to have a problem updating, but I noticed that just clicking on another tab in the preferences will make them update on the screen. So you don't need to close the dialog.
