If you have sent a bug report within CMUD, then there is no need to post to the forums unless you are looking for further discussion.

Well, you don't. That's a good point. But I don't mind getting duplicate bug reports via the automatted system. In fact, getting duplicate reports helps me determine the priority of a bug fix.
For the most part, only large and difficult bugs are reported to the forums, such as the multi-session issues. So you can find out about known "big" problems by reading the forums.
But in general, if you get a crash, always report it via the automatted Send Bug button, but don't bother posting it to this forum unless you think it's a really critical issue.
Or, think of it this way: If you think something needs public discussion, then post it to the Forums. Otherwise the automatted bug report is enough. |
