mapfilter |
does anyone know where to find or can anyone post a list of all available arguments for mapfilter or mapquery? "For example, Name is the room name, Desc is the room description, ZoneID is the zone number, etc." is the only thing i can find in the help files, and ZoneName doesn't work for zonename so this isn't too intuitive.

Open up the map database file with Microsoft Access, go into the Object (I think it's Objects) table, and have a look at the column names. That will tell you everything you need to know.

Bah.. I just re-read your first question properly...
The object table only has a list of ZoneID's, there is a seperate table which matches those ZoneID's up with the Zone name.
I know that it's possible to query multiple tables in the database to return the Zone name, as I've done it years ago.. now I'm not sure if I used the COM approach, or if there was another command in ZMud which gave a little more choice regarding which tables you wanted to look at.
Anyway, I would suggest looking up a few examples of basic SQL queries on the web, and creating a few queries using MSAccess just to familiarize yourself with it. Once you've created a filter to fit your needs, it's not too hard to intergrated it into ZMud code
Hope that helps |
