zMapper export features?

What kind of text formats does zMapper export as? If someone could post a small example, that would be sufficiant.

The reason I ask is that I'm pondering buying zMapper as an area creation tool. If the text output can be formatted to an .are file or reparsed to create one, that would be great. I'm just unaware of the formats that are exported, as I've read something about an XML and a text format. The graphic exports (such as gif) are not of an interest to me as of now, but I could see using them for other purposes.

Thanks for any feedback.

My advice is to download the program (you can try it free for 30 days) to see if it meets your needs. http://forums.zuggsoft.com/index.php?page=4&action=file&file_id=12

Vorax,

I've exported areas from the zMapper database by doing a bit of programming. I've only done exports to my own propietary format that I use for my mud engine ( http://www.wheelmud.net ). IIRC, *.are files are DIKU/MERC format? I'm sure somebody here, or some of your friends could write a utility for you. Do you know a web page that has a description of the format for *.are files?

I found a nice text exporting library called FileHelpers for those that are doing .NET programming. The url for this is http://filehelpers.sourceforge.net/

Thanks for the info. I'll try out the program when I get my computer back up and running. As for a utility, I program myself which is why I could reparse the output to fit the format that I would need to use.
