Getting up to speed with ToD and ACX 3.41 |
YAY! No more icky eLicense running and confusing me in the background all the time!!!! So I thought I'd make a summary thread for those coming after me, who aren't up to wading thru all the posts with strange subjects to figure out what to do.
So: Things to do to make 3.41 work right.
Updating Data files:
----------------------
Edit your ACxplorer.ini to look something like:
[AC-Spedia_DB]
File=places.dat
URL=http://www.acspedia.com/places/
Enabled=1
Format=0
URLFull=places.aspx
URLSince=places.aspx?date=%m/%d/%y
URLAdd=
URLGet=
URLSuspect=
LastUpdate=
RefNum=1
http://www.acspedia.com/instructions.htm has instructions, and sample files, for both ACX and zExplorer, for the interested student (or developer).
Updating Terrain (and Updating Map)
-------------------
Can't be done from the program anymore. The new dat file format hasn't been integrated into ACX. You COULD do some conversions with tools out there, and get a file to work with, but, our trustworthy Zugg has already been given the results of this, and integrated an unknown date TERRAIN.DAT into 3.41. Details on this forum at http://forums.zuggsoft.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=22250
Updating Software
---------------------
Works just fine. :)
ACX Server
--------------
I've never used it (I don't know anyone else with ACX pro), so, I have no idea. Zugg says in another thread (http://forums.zuggsoft.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=22444) that the auto and manual calibrate functions are dead as a parrot, and that the only way at this point to get things working, is to be good enough to enter the memlocs in by hand, each client patch. Ow.
Lots of details on the whole 'new' ToD version at http://forums.zuggsoft.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=22090.
I think that's about it. :) |

That was very kind of you to put all the trawled info into one post. Thanks very much
Should this post be made sticky? |
