How do I get Sound on Zmud startups? |
I can't get any sound when I start Zmud(currently on 7.20b) or go into a MUD. I'm using Windows XP Home. On my Windows 95, I get sound, so I don't understand why it's not working here.
I've checked the preferences.. there is a sound wav assigned to just about everything possible, but still no sound. Any ideas and help on this? |

I just checked, but it looks like Zugg is using .wav files which probably aren't standard on windows installations. For you to play sounds, you actually have to have the sound file on your computer and the Sounds files preferences pointing to those files. If the files don't exist, no sound is played.

Well if it works fine on your 95 system then I would suggest copying them from that to your XP system.

You don't need special files, you just need files that are actually present on your own system. The Windows installer, unless you unchecked that part completely, installs all the sound scheme files in a folder called Media (c:\windows\media, I think is the path).
