Command line question |
I've had a scan through the help files and posts with no luck.
My problem is this:
Scenario, I have three windows open [main window, map and room properties] I'm working on the map or room properties [so one of those is now active] when an aggro mobs wanders into my room and does its stuff, I click on command window to make it active and start typing my course of action only to find that i'm typing in vain and I need to highlight the command window text, thus losing valuable time.
Question: Whats the best/quickest way to make the command line 'active'? Is there something wrong in the way I'm working? My preference would be a hotkey/keystroke command instead of being ninja with the mouse. |

I personally click on the command line and then press the ESC key to quickly clear the contents of the command line.
You could probably also create a macro that switches you to the appropriate window and clears the command line. One of the Gurus can probably post more details on this (I'm away from my zMUD computer right now, so can't try it). |

No Zugg.. he means the focus is not automatically set to the command line when clicking on the text part of the window from the mapper. You have to physically click the command line in order to type text in there again. Also, since 7.13a (from 7.11 I think) there was a change made and I cannot Ctrl-Left key to tab over 1 word in the command line if it is selected (highlighted). Not sure what would cause that, but I have to hit the left key to unselect the text, then Ctrl-Left key to word tab.

I was hoping for an answer along the lines of...
Press CNTRL-Esc and your command line becomes active and ready to type regardless of what window you have active at that particular time...or something like that.
Even though I've had a licensed copy of zMUD for well over a year I have tended to use zMUD only as a database for mapping rather than my main mudclient and have only recently began to use it as a client (reason being I am not allowed to install anything to my works computer so at work I use ALclient direct from a memory stick...so to keep standardisation I used it at home too...also the MUD I play, the gods frown upon triggers other than say 'feeding' triggers). This is a long winded explaination as to say I have no real concept as to command line workings in previous versions and what it did or didnt do. |
