Mebbe could use a fix? |
zMUD switch from using %pass to #PW for using saved character passwords.
I don't know the reasons, but if it was for better security...
well..
here's a command that actually works:
#2 {delete %exec(#pw)}
(this executes command for character deletion on my mud)
or if someone just wants to know it:
turn off "gag password" in script parser preferences,
say <%exec(#pw)>
I doubt this really matters, since hopefully noone would allow others access to their open mud window, but....*shiver* |

%pass is still in there. You can just do:
#echo %pass
zMUD has never tried protecting your password, and yes, you should never give anyone access to an open MUD window. The Gag Password is only a very simple protection against really obvious attempts. There is a command to lock your MUD session and popup a password prompt window if you need to leave your computer unattended for a short period. I forget the name of the command off the top of my head but maybe one of the Gurus remembers it. |

ah. thank you, zugg. obviously when i'd used %pass in the past i'd left gag on. (hehe. oops.)
i hadn't actually seen the command to lock (tho i hadn't needed to look yet), so thanks ikyu.
I wasn't trying to say it's a problem, exactly. Just looking for a heads-up :) |
