Rooms stacking in mapper? Manual solution? |
OK, I'm pretty sure this is really simple but I can't figure it out.
The mud Im on is Imperian and it seems that rooms meld when using the automapper. For example in one of the main areas (Caanae) if you start in one room X for the moment, it has one east exit. From X, if you go e, ne, w ,w you end up in room Y which has a southerly exit that does not lead to X if you get my meaning? So the map ends up with rooms stacked one on top of the other.
Now this isnt too much of a problem in this example, but in the desert there are spots where a half dozen rooms might stack....
Ive seen some nice maps on the imperian site that seem to have overcom this.
I dont expect the automapper to manage it but is there some way to manually force the map to display them differently, even to stretch out the linking lines a little? |

You can drag them around in map mode. Some of the link lines will look funny, though, based on the angles generated by the positions of both rooms.

Oh, and if you want to do it via code there's always #MERGE. For basically anything script-wise involving the mapper, though, you will need to query the map for the room vnum or ID.
