Exporting zones in zMUD's mapper. |
I know it's possible to import individual zones (.MAP files) into the mapper, but is it possible to export them too? There doesn't seem to be an option to do so. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Yes, charbal wrote a program that allows you to export zones themselves to other databases anyway, not just to .map file that i know of. Click on the plugins link that Zugg started and youll find the link to it :)

So demoneyoungblood, the answer you MEANT to give is no.
*snicker*
I asked this same one a while ago. the answer was no.
thought maybe something changed in the new version.
Don't know why zugg took off that feature.
was nice and a heck of a lot easier to share mapped zones. |

He converted to ADO. That fixed a whole host of problems with maps that Zugg was puzzling over, and allowed a bunch of new things that simply weren't possible. Of course, then he discovered the joys of working with a Microsoft product and loved it even better when just recently he discovered SQLite or whatever it was that prompted this last update. |

You could probably do it manually with a lot of cut-and-paste though, if you have Microsoft Access. All the .mdb map files open fine in that.

No, i did not mean no. You cannot export to .map no, but you can still copy and export zones with charbal's Zone Copy. So, get zone copy, copy the zone to a new mdb, send the mdb, they get zone copy, and move it from the blank zone to theirs. not that difficult, a little overkill, but it does work. then again, dunno if zone copy works with the newest zmud, havent tried since a few versions prior, hehe. like 7.05 :-D

demoneyoungblood:
Since geosmith was asking about .map importing, I took the leap and thought that he meant if you could also export to .map.
That being my line of thought when you said, "Yes, but not to .map", that pretty much meant to me that you meant "no" :-)
MattLofton:
Understood. Be nice if there was something out there that was like the zone copy that could export to .map
