auto-reconnect |
Hi folks,
Sorry to bother you. I've written a script that often uses #disconnect and #connect, the logon is via manual trigs. I've tried load of different things and every time I get the same message, Zmud cannot auto-reconnect more than 20 times. Holy cow !! zmud isn't auto-reconnecting, I am !
Am I being stupid ? I'm not asking zmud to auto-reconnect me, so why is zmud puking like this ?
Cheers, |

Why would someone need to disconnect and reconnect so much at such short periods of time anyways?

First step when using your own auto-reconnect system is to turn zMud's off. This is done in the Preferences section Connection. There are some small side effects to turning this off, as Zugg never really expected people would want to write thier own. These side effects are mostly cosmetic.

You are, is zMUD not doing the reconnecting? Indeed it is.

Some people come here looking over scripts for knowledge, such as myself.

What are manual trigs?
How is zMud puking?
My suggestion to you would be to post your script as it is, and maybe, possibly, someone might help you get it working. Otherwise, we really have no idea what you're talking about. |

Thanks for your reply ...{chris}..., seams you have no idea what you're talking about. Please only post a reply if you have something constructive to say.
I restate Zmud's auto-reconnect is turned off.
Here's roughly how the script works.
1) log on char (using manual trigs)
2) char does stuff
3) #disc
4) #wait
5) #conn
6) goto step 2
This works fine for an hour or 2, then Zmud refuses to connect to the mud, claiming 'Unable to auto-reconnect more than 20 times' (even though auto-reconnect is turned off)

What version of zMud are you using. I seem to recall an old bug report about this, but it was fixed.
