searchable database?

Am I missing something or is it not possible to query the database? If I want to, say, search for any eq with INT modifiers, can that be done? At first blush, filters didn't look like they cover this, and I figured there had to be an easier way.
Suggestions would be great. Thanks.

%query(), %find(), and #FIND. #QUERY, maybe?
