Backingup a database

Since I don't ahve a good database editor outside of zmud, and I just like the ease of using text files sometimes as a backup (and minimal sizes for them)

What are the chances of getting help writing a quick script to turn a db into a text. I had help on a stock database thing previously but couldn't figure out how to convert that.

The database someone passed off to me is called pp has the file name of points.dbd
it has 6 fields
Name, Faith, Danbala, Mordred, Bahamut, Justice

I can't figure out how to back this up other than making copies of point.dbd occasionally, and that gets annoying so I was gonna write a script to write out the text file maybe once a week or such, but I can't figure out how.
Thanks.

I did this the round about way:
open data base
go to edit
select all
copy
open txt and past and save

you will have to use triggers to get it back in there

so the way you where doing it is probably best.
