Scripting colored text...

Hey everyone,

I've been a MUDder for about 2-3 years, but I have not ventured into the complexity of zMUD and the scripts for zMUD. Yet, recently, a friend I met on a MUD called DragonStone, created a script that input a color code before each type of number/letter. The color codes he used were &z, which was the code for Dark Gray, &w, which was the code for Gray, and &W, which was used for White lettering. He created a script in zMUD code, which, before each string of capital letters, would insert the &z code. Each string of lower-cased letters would have a &w sign before it, and the &W code would be placed before each string of numbers/symbols ($, %, 1, 2, 3, ^, etc.). I'm a "newbie" at creating scripts, so if anyone would mind telling/showing how he did this, it would be a great help for my knowledge in scripting, and it would make my letters look pretty darn cool. Smile Thanks! Peace.

do you mean in the mud you played the letters were colored?
and that you know he used a script to help hime do this?

OR

Are you saying that you could see the code in the game?

would you like random colors or a pattern each time?

probbably going to need a list of all the color codes for your Mud you want to do this for.

&r darkred &R brightred &g darkgreen &G brightgreen
&b darkblue &B lightblue &C lightcyan &W white
&Y yellow &O orange &p darkpurple &P lightpurple
&c darkcyan &w lightgrey &z darkgrey && an ampersand (&)
&. random color

The letters that that specific person typed were colored, and whenever he hit enter, it would insert the color codes that he wanted. Specifically, if any of you were going to do this for me, I'd want dark blue for caps, dark red for lower-cased, and white for symbols.
