Very annoying problem. Please help

I am having a strange and annoying problem. When I start Zmud, it loads and starts, but I cannot see it. If I hit ther enter key it will start the first character in the list, but I still can't see the character screen. I have tried everything I can think of. I have increased screen res to max, min, tried starting minimized, maximizrd, run in 256 colors, tried all compatibility modes, reinstalled and still can't see the character window. Anyone seen anything like this. Oh, windows XP sp1, 512 mb ram, 1.8 MHZ proc.
