I cannot use my AC Explorer

This has been going on for several months now. I purchased AC Exp Pro in November of 2003 and when the eLicense thing started popping up it was originally not a problem - I could click on "Get License" and I would be back up in a matter of seconds. Then it started returning a "-10" error (which the FAQ said meant I had Firewall or Proxy server problems). Except I had neither (the Firewall had been disabled and I have no Proxy). I run the software from my office and my home PC and both exhibited the same problem. For the past 2-3 months I have been unable to open AC Exp. Initially I would wait a day and then it would work but now...nothing! I have sent 3 emails to you guys about this and have not heard back. What is up? I am beginning to think you don't love me anymore - all I want to do is use my AC Explorer...Please? Crying or Very sad

I haven't seen any emails from you, so something is wrong. Make sure you have the latest public version of AC Explorer Pro from this web site. If you still get a -10, that still means you have some sort of proxy server, or some sort of network firewall such as ZoneAlarm or Norton Network security or something that is preventing access to the www.elicense.com registration server. You will need to email eLicense directly at support@elicense.com or go to their site at www.elicense.com and open a support ticket there.

If that is where you have already been sending your emails and not getting a response, then send me a copy of what you have sent them to zugg@zuggsoft.com and I'll look into it. Make sure you are not sending attachments or are not using some wierd free email service that puts ads in your email or they might be getting deleted as spam.

I received your emails, all within just a few days of eachother. -10 errors are best handled directly by elicense and I have forwarded your support requests to them, and sent you a second reply this morning. Please post again if you did not receive this one either.

PostPosted: Mon Oct 04, 2004 9:22 pm   Should I uninstall what I have?

I tried reinstalling last night but apparently it sees my current install and just does a rollcall install - leaving the original files intact and then bringing me to the same eLicense screen. I will attempt to uninstall from the office PC (since it is not as critical here) and let you know what happens with the reinstall then. Thank you for responding. I had initially tried to post the problem here but was denied access because my "account was not active". I had registered on the website originally a week or so ago in order to post and was informed that I would receive a confirmation email with a link I would need to follow in order to activate the account - that email arrived in my mailbox last night - very strange - and it is making me wonder if my ISP is doing some funny things in the name of "security". I am behind a Firewall here in the office but I am the IT Director and I have control of it. I have my PC NAT'd out to a Class A address to avoid the problems (also necessary to play AC) and I have no restrictions on ports or types of communication I can send and receive. Antivirus is disabled when I am attempting to communicate with your server - so it should not be in the way. The strange part is that at home the only Firewall is the one that comes with Win XP SP2 and I disabled that for this communication - besides, the problem existed long before I installed SP2 and RoadRunner does not use a Proxy server so this should not be an issue at all.

Regarding the emails: I sent one last night and one last week and the first one about 3-4 weeks ago. All from the same email address that is registered with the software - which is my ISP email account, so it should not pose a problem.
