lost registration |
hi everyone im new to the forums, but not new to the client :)
about 2 years ago i bought the zmud client, before it was switched to elicense, i stoped playing muds for well over a year, and seem to have misplaced my registration information. I've sent an email to support, with the information it was bought under: name, address, last 4 digits of cc, etc. I have yet to get an email back. i can understand them being busy, but is there any way i can get my information back without bothering people ? thanks for any responses :) |

Nope, bothering people is a requirement for getting that kind of info back. What, you want I should post it all here? :P (not that I could).

Zugg specifically does not keep credit card info on file. It just wouldn't be right.
Best thing any of us can tell you is to email support@zuggsoft.com with a very polite but concise story of your situation. State that you understand they (meaning Zugg and Chiara) have instituted a policy of not helping people with lost reg. codes, and be apologetic about asking anyway. If you get a negative response or no response in a week simply buy another code.
I believe this policy was done more because Chiara was spending too many hours a day trying to look up lost codes for people. So you should provide as much information as possible in as short a format as possible. Obviously she will not be inclined to help you if she has to read through 3 pages to find the best data to search on, and the policy frees her to simply delete your email out of hand.
Keep in mind that everyone, with a Guru stamp, except Zugg (and maybe Chiara) are volunteers. We are here to try and reduce how much time Zugg has to spend on support, so he is free to program. If any of us have been less then helpful, then I am sorry; we simply can't help you. |

By the way, it's not necessarily that *you* are abusing anything. It's that unscrupulous people who've never bought the program will occasionally send an email asking for "their" registration code to be found for them, and provide someone else's name and or credit card number.
Since that was happening more often than legitimate requests, the policy came down. You can still try politely anyway, but at least now you can understand why it's stated the way it is. |
