Clean install of zMUD

After upgrading to the lastest version of zMud i had several problems which i couldn't fix. I decided to make a new installation in another directory and at least my largest problem with the Automapper seems to be fixed. Now i want to copy all my triggers and settings from my previous installation. How do i do this?

I tried opening the .mud file for my character but zMud doesn't like this. After restarting zMuds starts opening up a child window over and over again until it crashes.
I tried exporting/importing from the editors window but i don't see a way of exporting everything all at once, it just exports 1 class or trigger at a time. I could export the 100 or so triggers/aliases 1 at a time but there must be an easier way.

So simply asked: what files do i need to copy/export to get everything transfered from version 6.62 to version 7.05? (including database, mapper, character)

I THINK that when you're in your Settings, do 'Save As' under File, save it to your desktop, then on you're other zMUD open those Settings. I THINK that might work. It also might break something, I don't know, but it also might work.

I am responsible for no broken zMUDs, crashing computers, or lost equipment from zMUD breaking. You choose to do this of your own free will. :P

The simplest method is to copy the old .mud file to the directory for the new character and set it as the Primary settings file.
  1. Select the desired character and Edit

  2. Select the Files tab

  3. Click the Browse button (folder icon) next to Primary

  4. Browse to your old .mud file

  5. Right-click the file and select Copy

  6. Browse back to the directory for your character

  7. Right-click an empty spot and Paste

  8. Rename the file

  9. Select it as your Primary file

You can also import your settings through the Settings Editor using drag and drop, or through the Import Settings dialogue. Follow the instructions in the help topic, Importing Settings. This topic can be found from the Contents page under References/Menu Reference or from the Index under settings, importing.

Copying an entire mudfile should be quite simple. With drag-and-drop just Select All then move them all in one operation. With Import Settings, select each type of item (from Classes to Other), then select all the items listed (click the first item, scroll to the bottom and Shift-click the last item) and click the Add button. After you have all your settings selected, Import. There are only 12 types in the Import Settings dialogue, so it shouldn't take long.
