Need help with sounds |
Well, now I have another Zmud question that I can't find an answer for, and was hoping a Zmud user could help me out again. I downloaded and unzipped the 2 sound packs for MM (Materia Magica) into the MM/sounds folder of Zmud. I went to view-preferences-sound and checked Enable MUD Sound Protocol and Allow inline MSP, as well as Enable Sound Downloading. That didn't work, so I went to General MXP and unchecked Enable MXP. Sounds still don't work. I noticed that the sounds MM sends triggers for are on the right side database thingy in red, and it says if the sounds are in red they can't be found on the disk. The sounds are mp3 files, but I don't think that's really a problem because when I open windows explorer and click on those sounds, media player pops up and plays them quite nicely. What am I doing wrong? Also, sound is set On in my MM settings. It looks like Zmud is receiving the triggers from the mud, it just can't find the corresponding sound files for some reason. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. The Zmud FAQs and online help forums haven't been able to help me.

MSP only supports MIDI (.mid) for music and WAV (.wav) for sounds, so .mp3 it's not a valid sound file. I think the problem it's that zMUD search for a name.mid file but this not exists as it's name.mp3.
I supouse you have to inform about this to the MUD admins, as they are using sound files not compatible with the mud sound Protocol, that would be not a problem of zMUD, it's a problem of all clients using the MSP. |
