does "Publish Location" upload one item or all?

when I hit "publish" or choose "publish location" from the menu, am I uploading only the selected item, or all my additions/changes? should I select each one and click publish each time?

You are only uploading the currently selected location. There currently isn't any way to update all of your changes at once yet. So, select each one and publish it. I usually click Publish just after clicking the Save button.
