zMUD and Winamp

Is there any way to control winamp from inside zmud?
I want to create buttons that will play/switch tracks/stop/pause winamp.

Or, is it possible to play mp3s with zMUD?

Pentium 4, 1.7Ghz.

3dfx Voodoo3
Windows XP Professional

You should be able to use the #PLAY and #MEDIA commmands to play, stop, pause, resume, etc. the songs. First use the #PLAY command, and then you can use #MEDIA to control the playback. Although I don't have any problems using it in my computer, I've seen other people that can't play MP3s from within zMUD, so it may be possible that you won't be able to do it this way.

I get this error:
Error parsing: #media play
Message: No MCI device open.

I guess it is windows stuff, any idea what to do?

Put Winamp in windowshade mode, stick it on the top edge of your screen, set it to always on top, and use its buttons to control it like it was meant to be. All it covers is part zMUD's window title bar, which you don't need to see anyway, and since you wanted to create buttons to control Winamp, there's no more work in hitting Winamp's own button.

Did you first use #PLAY to begin playing a file?

"play" for #MEDIA will only work after you have used "stop" or "pause", and to use one of these a file must already be playing by the #PLAY command.
