Quick #CO question

I have an alias that displays a variable(just some statistics i like to store) like this:

alias: gxp
output: You have earned a total of @gxptotal in your lifetime.

-i know how to make a trigger to color @gxptotal..but it also colors every other thing on te mud with the same number...so for example, every 4 is always himagenta, ew...
anyway, is there a way to color just this @gxptotal in the alias, so i dont need a trigger?
