Mapper so slooooooow |
Hi,
I bought the zMUD license and then downloaded in my PIII 256 MB Win 2000 machine:
MDAC 2.7 Refresh (upgrades to XP MDAC)
zMUD Beta 6.53.
Ran it and upgraded maps from the 6.40 release, which worked like a charm.
Now the program still works, but every time I go to a new room it takes from 2 to 10 seconds to add it!
This resulted in many deaths against aggro NPCs and frustration.
With 6.40 I had no problem and I did not alter the mapper configuration.
I also tried to compact the MDB (2000 rooms in about 70 zones, but with no noticeable results.
Is there a way to revert to the 6.40 program, if there is no known fix for this?
MUD: RetroMUD, LP based.
Bye

Follow the instructions given on the http://www.zuggsoft.com/data page to make sure you also have the WinXP SP1 and the correct Jet OLEDB files.
