Not sure if anybody caught this yet, but if you try to load a .gif file as a background image, zmapper bugs out and corrupts the entire map file your working on. Performing an end task and them re-opening the database does not help because it tries to reopen the background image again and runs into the same problem.
Hopefully this is not specific to the .gif files I have. If you need me to send you the file I tested on let me know Zugg.

Please send me your gif test file. I cannot reproduce any problem with this. Following the tutorials that use the background images seems to work fine.
