Uninstalling and reloading

I am upgrading to Win2k Pro and I wanted to format my HD and do a clean load, just to avoid any possible problems I have been constantly been having with 98SE. Is it possible to export all of my mud files and various trigger/macro/map files to disk so that I don't have to re-create all of my triggers/macros from scratch? I have tried copying all of the folders and such to disk and then copying them back once I reloaded my system, but it never picks up the muds in the initial character login screen. I have also tried exporting the mud settings and importing them later as well, this didn't work all that great either...I still lost the initial mud info and had to track the muds Ip addy and server info down from scratch as well, and then import the settings into the new mud character login.
Maybe I am going about this all wrong....could I get some feedback on this?

Well, I don't know abot you, but at least the steps that I have taken in the past, that work, are as follows:
1. Copy the zMUDmudName folder to somewhere else.
2. Copy the chardb.mdb file (if using beta versions) or chardb.* files (if using 6.16) in the zMUD folder to somewhere else.
3. Copy any .lay files in the zMUD folder to somewhere else.
4. Do what you want to do. (unlicense zMUD, format HD)
5. Install zMUD
6. Copy the *.lay and chardb.mdb or chardb.* files to the zMUD folder.
7. Copy the mudName folder back into the zMUD folder.
8. Run zMUD. (Your old character list should appear, as this is store in chardb.mdb or the chardb.* files)
9. Go through each character and make sure that in teh Files tab, they have the correct .mud file associated with each one.
10. Connect to one of your character and enjoy your MUD.
11. Repeat step 10 as necessary.
