Mapping via ANSI |
Is it possible to set trigger using ANSI color as the triggering text? The main example I want to use it for is Zmapper. An example is below: (Room from Achaea/Aetolia)
Junction of Market Street and Merchant Street.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky.
You see exits leading north (open door), northeast, southeast and northwest.
But if something was in the room:
Junction of Market Street and Merchant Street.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. There are three corpses of a young
rat here. There are two corpses of a baby rat here.
You see exits leading north (open door), northeast, southeast and northwest.
Now the annoying this is that the mapper hates this. There is enough variation in these rooms that the really only common way to sort this out is to trigger via coloration.
Throw players in with a different color and it gets even more aggro.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or have had any setup for either of these muds that has worked? |

Turn off room description in the mapper. That will cause it to stop capturing them and more important will use room names to detect a succesful move while in follow mode.

I've tried Achaea also, and I've had the same problem with following on the map. I've found that the room name in your automapper has to match the mud room name exactly (capital case where you see capital case, periods, etc) otherwise you won't be followed to that room.
Hope this helps... |

Don't give up yet... I played Achaea extensively for quite a while, in fact, I probably had the best maps of Achaea at the time, and I did configure it to work great with the Zmud mapper... sorry I can't help you out much with it, since it's been over a year, and 2 computers previous since I really did anything there. but... it IS possible.
