Write a BLOCK of test to a file?? |
I am tring to write a block of text to a file. On the mud I play items can be 'identified' with a scoll, the mud then returns a variable amount of text lines that I would like to append to a file.
Each ID 'block' begins with "You feel informed:" then from 5 to 8 lines discribing the item that I would like to append to the file. Any ideas/Tips/Hints would be great!!
Thanks! |

Since the amount lines that follow the "You feel informed:" is variable, you need some other way to know when to stop capturing the text. I'm going to use a blank line here, you can change it to something else if it doesn't work for your case:
#TRIGGER {You feel informed:} {#T+ identify}
#TRIGGER {$} {#T- identify} "identify"
#TRIGGER {(*)} {#WRITE 1 {%1}} "identify"
All of this assumes that the file is already opened as file 1.
