6.16 hang on sound initialization

Windows 95, 48M of RAM

zMUD hangs while initializing the sound module.

There is no sound card installed on this machine.

Any help?

Thanks in advance.

I've only seen this when I was low in memory
and using the windows player 7.1 thing.

Normally a end task on zMud and shut down
the player solved my problems.

W98se, old soundblaster, 233mhz 32meg ram :P

There's a line in the zmud.ini file that should contain "Sound=1" -- Try changing that to "Sound=0" and restarting zMUD to see if that fixes things.

With no sound card, you can live with Sound=0 just fine.

"Sound=0" worked. Thanks!
