Everyone here has been great so far in answering all my questions and helping me out and I'd like to thank each and every one of you. Now I have another task at hand. I've created a map of the area that I want my bot to move around, it's just that I don't know how to make it move around. :( When you enter a room, the basic description would look like this:
>The top of a hill
A black dog
(Exits: n e s w)
I think the automapper is a great feature and it's helped in many ways. Can someone please help me make this bot work? :p Thanks again! |

My conceptual design for a full roaming bot is simple.
Look at current room.
If mobs worth kill are present kill them. Repeat as needed.
If I see (Exits:*) and am not attacking a mob issue next movement. The will preform the look in the next room automatically so repeat at kill mobs.
As you conceptually easy, in practice though it is a lot harder. If the mapper detects all your mud's rooms perfectly and you are not using a beta version for playing then it just got a lot easier. Look up the LMAP command, and you will that Zugg has wonderfully written almost everything for you. |
