I remember there being a color format or something called RIP. It was always asked of me if I used ANSI or RIP on some of the older door games found on many BBS's. Is this what is being referred to?

RIP is indeed a graphic format. And no, I don't believe zmud supports it. I play Realms of Despair an awful lot, and it has some RIP graphics, but I never see them through zmud. And yes, I did choose RIP before I chose ANSi.

RIP was actual graphics, like the old style 16-color EGA settings. (Remember all those old throwback Sierra games like Space Quest/Kings Quest 1-3..?? Remember when they used to "fake" reality in the cutsceneces?) Those were as close to RIP as you can get nowadays. I wouldn't expect a lot of MUD's to support it though, because you'd need a graphic for EVERY room on the MUD, and that can get pretty intense to design, especially when you have the easy way out to just do it with words. :)

Hope this helps.

Ah.. You learn something new every day.. :)

No, it doesn't support these sort of graphics, that I know of. (RIP sounds like BSX, anyone remember that? Regenesis?)

You could write a plugin for it though.. I wrote half a one for BSX.. *g*
