Mapper Slowdowns

Version 7.05 seems exceedingly slow creating new zones in the mapper. I have a fairly large map (over 280,000 rooms} with just over 250 zones. When I try to move some rooms into a new zone, it takes several hours for it to execute.

There is also a 3-5 minute delay opening the properties window that I don't experience in zMapper.

There is a similar 3-5 minute lag when I use keyboard creation or #makeroom to link from a new room to an already existing room.

I compact the database each time I edit the map and I am up to date on all windows xp updates.

That's extremely slow. Since you haven't gotten any responses here, I'd suggest sending email directly to Zugg.

I do have a couple of recomendations you might want to try *backup map file first*

A. Run a Database Repair tool
Off the top of my head goto control panel, Data Sources ODBC, Select Microsoft Access, Then Configure, Then Repair and select your Map File.
I think there is an easier link to this but I am way to tired to look, And if anything you can search the MS website for Access 2000 Map repairs tools too.

B. Rename the map file load a new BLANK map Close the mapper and Run Charbals ZONE COPY utility (search the forums for it) and import everything into the blank map.

And if I come up with more brilliant ideas I will let you know.
