zExplorer v4.16 PUBLIC version released!

Added support for Star Wars Galaxies and Horizons!
A new mapping and database utility for online games. Similar to AC Explorer, but can be customized to handle other games. Currently, AC1, AC2, Horizons, and SWG are supported. Shares the same license and registration code with AC Explorer, so this is a FREE UPGRADE for AC Explorer users. Maps compatible with zMapper and zMUD. Supports the new map database server scripts. [More Information]
---
This version fixes the reported bugs in the previous versions, especially regarding the flipped coordinates in SWG. Marker support has been added to Horizons and SWG. Portal Commands have been added for AC2 users (Nexus ties, lifestone recall, etc). Also fixed a major bug with the update datafiles not handling the zone or server list properly.

As mentioned in the New Years letter, I'm not going to be adding any more new features to zExplorer for a few months. I went ahead and made this a public version even though it doesn't have the real-time tracking because I need to evaluate the legality of the client hacking that is required to extract your ingame location for this feature. Players of Asheron's Call will need to continue to use AC Explorer to use this feature, and this feature might never get added to zExplorer. The same is true for terrain-sensitive path finding (for those games with terrain) since it requires extracting the terrain data from the game files.

For now, this is a nice stable version of zExplorer and should allow people to continue sharing maps and discussions in the supported games. Looks like Worlds of Warcraft is the next big game on the horizon, but it will be many months before it is released and I can added support for it.

If you find any bugs in zExplorer, please post them to a new Topic. To download the new version, go to the main Download page on this site.

Happy mapping!

Updated zExplorer to 4.16a today to fix the bug with Horizons where the Y coordinate was being flipped. If you are using zExplorer for Horizons, please download the new version. The filename is the same but when you run it you should see 4.16a on the splash screen.
