Funky exits.. |
I'm trying to configure the mapper to recognize exits, water and sea in the exits of the rooms
For example a room with a door to the north looks like this:
(Room stuff)
[Exits: [north] east south west]
A room with water exits
[Exits: /north east south west]
And sea:
[Exits: =north= east south west]
If I turn automatic exit detecting on, it DOESNT detect doors, but does detect water/sea as doors. Without it on it wont detect the exits for water/sea rooms, and i have to manually do doors. Any ideas? |

Under your Preferences|General|Command Parser page, there is an option to Allow [] for eval. Try turning it off when mapping.

I don't use the mapper some i'm stabbing in the dark.
is there a trigger that detects the room that you can change. might want to use ~/ ~= etc. the ~ character tells the parser to quote it as is and not try to process it. |

In all cases you described it should create a stub link in the proper direction. If by 'doesn't detect door' you mean that it didn't create the door for you then that is exactly what it is supposed to do. If you mean that it didn't make a stub at all then you need to tweak your mapper configuration. I have worked with many muds that use braces to signal doors and never had a problem getting the mapper to make a stub.
