Managing windows in zMUD?

I am trying to set up so that the main window occupies about two thirds of the bottom of the screen and a few information windows are in a row above the main window.

I can achieve this by dragging the windows to where I need them but they return to the same initial state whenever I start zMUD. That is the main window on the bottom and the information windows together selected by tabs.

Any idea how I might get zMUD to remember my desired layout?

Now i have the problem that the windows have a command line and a status line. I can manually remove them and save the layout but they are there again when I next start up zMUD. Any suggestions?

One other thing. I was playing with my layout and I tried disabling the global buttons. I.e. "Chars", "Settings", ... "Quit". They went away alright but I see no way to get them back. Any help would be appreciated.

Set the Command Line and Status Line as desired in each window. Then, select each window in turn and select Save from the Settings menu.

From the main window, select Preferences/General from the View menu. If General is expanded, select User Interface. Select Main Tool bar.
