A few Mapper suggestions

I have used zMUD for a few years and think that it's great and I have a few suggestions which I think may make it even better. Please forgive me if these suggestions have been made before or if these features already exist and I just can't find them Smile.

  • It would be nice to be able to select different fonts and font sizes for individual mapper labels instead of one global setting. Small fonts for individual room labels look odd when used to label whole towns and areas.

  • In previous versions of zMUD it used to be possible to display rooms with a 2D flat look rather than with the 3D raised effect. Does this feature still exist? If not would it please be possible to re-introduce it, I much preferred the flat look.

  • It would be useful to be able to copy and paste rooms to different areas of the map. Sometimes the MUD that I play has a repeating pattern of rooms and it would be helpful to be able to copy and paste these (and maybe even rotate them) instead of mapping each individual area.

  • I have tried zMapper and I liked it. I would purchase a finished version, however I have found that the zMapper plug-in displays rooms differently than the zMUD mapper. Maps viewed with zMapper have bigger rooms and consequently shorter links between them which I think makes my maps look silly. Would it be possible to make zMapper display rooms the same way that the zMUD mapper does?

Could I request that it be made possible to set/view all applicable parameters when using the %roomportal function, specifically I would like to be able to specify from the command line (or within a script) whether:

  • a link is outgoing one-way, incoming one-way or bi-directional
  • the link is drawn or not

If the preceding functionality was included in zMud then being able to implement my plan in the following link would be relatively straightforward, without it the completion of my plan is reliant upon many hours of manually altering zMud map exits.
