Follow Mode

Ok, I searched through the forums and only found stuff thats months old, so I figured I would post my question and see what heppens. I am playing a test character on a mud thats in devel. The rooms are very generic at the moment, so there are not any dynamic room text issues yet. I created a map to help the admin bebug room exits and the mapper worked like a dream and let us get all the buggy room exits ironed out in a flash. Now, I have said map, and I'm running in brief mode, as I used to create the map, with no room descs other than:
Obvious exits: west, north, east.
122> w
Marsh

Obvious exit: east.

122> e
Marsh

Obvious exits: west, north, east.

The 122> is my prompt(hitpoints plus a > ). Now, follow mode will sporatically just stop working after a few rooms. Mainly it seems to do it when I try to move too quickly through several rooms, it will simply stop in one of the rooms as I keep going. I'm not using speedwalking as I'm actually looking for random creatures to pop in these rooms. I have noticed posts about updating MDAC and JET, but I'm not certain if that will help. I am using zmud 6.62 with the default automapper config. and Win2k with SP4 installed along with every critical and non-critical update from the windows update page.

Please let me know if there is any more information I need to give that would help, please let me know.

Check your settings for the mapper to see that they are set up to reflect the brief mode.

Room Description Configuration

Am not in front of zMud right now but take this into consideration (from the help files)

If the MUD displays a room description, make sure the Room Description option is checked. Again mark the paragraph containing the room description based upon the numbering scheme described in the previous section, and mark the starting line of the description information. If the room description covers more than one line, check the Multiline Description option.

Both Safe and Slow modes use #OK triggers to update map position. The mapper uses the room name to create such a trigger unless you check the Match Room description during speedwalk box in the Speedwalk page of the mapper configuration.
