Command Line won't expand

I have tried both the newest release and the new beta version, and I can not make my command line expand when I type past its limit. It just goes off the screen and I can not see what I am typing. I have played with all the options in the expanded general preferences. Anyone have any clues?

Yes I have. I have asked friends that are using the same version to list every option they have and I have them all as well. Plus I have tried a bunch of different combos. Right now its back to how it was on install.

I don't think that's it. When I turn that option on and type a long line, it sends the command as multiple lines to the game. (Which usually means a truncated command and a lot of "command not understood" messages.) If I turn it off, then the command line scrolls left and right until it hits some magic (and annoying, might I add) number, where you have to view it as multiple lines even though it really isn't. (Honestly, who in this day and age sets hard limits like that? Use null-termination or something, for pity's sake.)

Hey, come on virtuous, you can't base your opinions on just one observation. That's like looking at just one person, finding out that the person is blonde and assume that everyone in the planet is blonde too.

There's something strange here because I am not seeing this behavior at all and Nolrith also said that some friends with the same version didn't have the problem. I just entered a line with the Wordwrap option enabled, and it did wordwrap, and it sent it all as one big command. I also disabled this option and entered a line 19833 characters long and it stayed all in one line and sent it correctly.

Now, on to the original topic. To eliminate the possibility that this is related to settings, hit ESC at the Character Selection screen to open a blank window. Try the command line in that window and see if it happens.

Okay, I did it in a blank window and still the same problem. I am a experienced programmer and have been using Zmud a long time, but this one stumps me. Not sure what would be causing it.

Also, in answer to the second thread that is running through this one. I believe that it just depends on if you have a new line char somewhere inside your command to make it send the commands as seperate lines. Sometimes copy/paste will get this problem to occur. Just my 2 cents.

If what Talahaski says doesn't work, then you should try contacting Zugg. It may be possible that there is something wierd with the windows DLL that has the edit box control.
