I have created a couple of windows to collect info, one gagging text that's unnecessary, another for collecting, and redisplaying chats. These are in addition to the main output window. I have tried playing with the tabbing, and the settings, and saving the layout...I have found the desired appearance with multiple tabs.

I have the gagged window behind the chat window, and atop the main output window. I only need one command line, but every time I close the windows, and re-open the session, the windows reset, each having a status line, and a command line. They are taking up half the window that is at the top inch of the screen.

I dont know how to fix it, aside from just correcting it each time I open them. Is there a setting or command or menu property that can keep this from coming back, once I switch it, even when the windows are closed?

Remove the command line and status line from the windows you don't want to have them and then select each window and click on Settings|Save to save the settings for that window. If asked, maked sure that the settings file has the same name as the window.
