Local Echo

Is there a way to turn off the local echo then turn it back on again on the fly? I have an alias that does some stuff but i want to suppress it from echoing to the mud but i still want all the commands i type in to be seen on the screen.

thanks

Have the alias use the #SEND command to send the commands to the MUD without you seeing them.
