Ansi graphics

I think I understand exactly what ansi graphics are, and I don't know how to enable them, but I need to.
I am trying to connect to a tradewars game and it uses ansi graphics. Zmud seems to have several different settings that refer to ansi, but I just need it to handle them exactly like telnet does.
Thank you in advance,

this should be the default settings. Just make sure the checkbox's labeled "Emulate control codes" and "Ansi color" are checked under the emulation section of the general preferences. What exactly is the mud trying to display and how is it distorted?

Those settings are indeed checked...
I am getting lines that look like this
" Ý°±²ÛÛ²±²±Û±²²²²²²²²²±±±²²Û²
"
there should be boxes of varying shades of gray in place of those charecters...
together with other lines, it should end up showing a picture of a spaceship. (note: the graphics wont always be in black and white, and when it tries to display something in color, the colors are right, but it still shows those charecters instead of blocks of color)
thanks,

You have to change your font to terminal.

awesome, changing it to terminal solved the problem... does that just mean that it will let the mud define the font? or what. cause i wonder if that will mess up things for my other muds... also if anyone actually uses zmud for trade wars I would like to hear about it because im having some more crutial problems as well.

Font settings are character specific, so you have no need to worry about other muds being affected.

Trade Wars reacts to single character inputs, so you may wish to change your preferences to be in character mode. You can then click in the output area, and a cursor will appear. Then each character you type will be sent immediately.

For scripting you will have to use the #SENDPROMPT command to make the same effect.
