Zmud Disconnects on Connection |
my First time posting so hopefully this has not been adressed yet.
I have zmud 6.4
When I connect to my mud it goes to log in screen and when Name prompt comes up Zmud disconnects from the mud. It all happens in less then 1 second. I have heard many people on the mud compain about this problem but most of them can reboot and be fine. I have to uninstall Zmud and reinstall. So far this month I have had to do this process 3 times.
Any ideas?
please help |

I don't know if this matters but thought I would add it. I play wotmud.org and have had zmud for almost 5 years this problem did not occur till the 6. versions of zmud

You know, I've had the same problem from time to time (though, nothing so bad that I had thought it was anything more than my computer )
Anywho.
Couple questions:
1) What network card / modem are you running? and do you have the latest drivers for it?
The reason I ask is many times I've seen people with issues sending large amounts of data (such as a login screen of any size) in a relatively short time (less than 1 second counts... ), and it's been the drivers fault.
2) What OS are you running on?
This can play a major factor, as some OS's dont have certain WinSock libraries loaded which fix problems in previous versions of WinSock, again, something you might consider to fix it
That's a good starting place to keep looking though, if you could reply with those specs, we can move forward from there.

Hmmmm, have you done all of the updates (Including but not limited to Service Pack 1)?
And what model of Network card (some cards dont play as well as others do, though this is less and less of an issue, it's mainly (atleast i've found) with onboard cards)
Oh, and out of curiousity, 4.46 mhz, I'm assuming you meant Ghz, and if so, that's one major overclock that I've never even seen done..... You sure about that?
If you are, considering undoing it It might not be a major part of the problem...

One thing to try:
Go into your Preferences, and in there, Under General, then Emulation, try unchecking "Strict Telnet" and see if that clears up your problem.
It's a chance that the new feature of strict telnet has caused some issues on the mud that you're connecting to.
