sounds like the lic control service has been disabled, assuming you're on windows 2k/XP...reset it to manual and zmud will run again

Why oh WHY did I have pass door on...

go into the control panel...administrative tools...services
scroll down to LicCtrl Service, properties, set it to manual in the drop down panel labelled "startup type", apply, ok

ive heard some people's virus checker turns the service off, other people disable it because they dont know what it is (i did it too when i got my hands on XP)...its hard to narrow down properly :)
