Make sure that parsing is on. There should be a little computer icon next to your command box. If it has an X on it, click it or press Control-R.

Also make sure you have the Movement Character enabled and set to . in Preferences. That's the default, but it's not unusual for people to change Special Characters and then wonder why things don't work.

The 3w and others don't get expanded because you don't seem to have your direction settings for one reason or another. Anyway, enter this into the command line:
#CLASS {System|Directions}
#DIR ns "n|north" n
#DIR sn "s|south" s
#DIR ew "e|east" e
#DIR we "w|west" w
#DIR ud "u|up" u
#DIR du "d|down" d
#CLASS {System|DirectionsDiag}
#DIR hl "nw|northwest" nw
#DIR jk "ne|northeast" ne
#DIR lh "se|southeast" se
#DIR kj "sw|southwest" sw
#CLASS 0

msew, are you using 6.32 which is the current Beta?
There's a bug reported on the Beta Forum related to using paths at the command line.

There's no such bug Humpton. I have 6.32 and I am able to enter stuff like .3w2n into the command line and zMUD send:
w
w
w
n
n
Try entering the same stuff that I suggested to msew into your zMUD.

Thanks Kjata!
