Won't start in XP
 
ok i've used zmud in Xp before , no problems , i would also like to point out i'M VERY advanced with computers, heres the problem ;

after installing (fresh) I go to lauch zmud and NOTHING happens. I then ctl-alt-del , theres nothing NEW there .
humm .. so i then close down EVERY program i can thats not sys. crit. AFTER shuting down with a cold boot .. NOTHING .. i preced to uninstall , and install agian .. NOTHING ... tried all the above agian NOTHING ... try uninstalling .. then cleaning the regestry off EVERYTHINg zmud put in it .... NOTHING...

I AM about to give up ?? any suggestions

Ok, start with the basics. What version of zMUD? Is your XP Current with latest service packs/patches/hotfixes? Did you install as Administrator, and run the first time as Administrator?

If all of these things are current/true, then I'd start looking at virus scanners, firewalls, etc that might be interfering.

ok Installed and run (everytime) as administrater
Winxp WITH ALL UPDATES/PATCHES
zmud ver. 6.16 and also tried the new beta one

Turned off all virus scanners , firewalls that could be interfering NO LUCK :(

Is the LicCtrl service running at any time before/during/after trying to running zMUD in your computer?

that was it went and turned that service off ., removed the elisence thing , then turned it back on ( JUST to be sure :) ) and it worked .. that service was it .. i NEW it had to do with the elicence TY TY TY TY
