Connection Timer Indicator

Greetings! I would very much like to not have the little connection timer "gauge" or whatever it is down on my status bar. I need more room for my status! Anyway, is there a way to get rid of it? I thought that I did manage to turn it off at one time, but if so now I can't find the option anywhere.

There's a Connection Timer option in the Connection preferences.

I turned off connection timer in the preferences, but the indicator is still present on my status bar. It doesn't seem to be tracking any time, but I'd like to totally get rid of the box that it displays in so that I can get more on my status bar. Is this possible? Also, is there any way to have more than one status window?

I think the box is a coded piece of the resource for the window, so it can't be removed.

Regrettably there can only be 1 status window, but you can simulate another with a child window that is either told to update its display, or uses a permanent alarm to update its display. I would be happy to help you configure such if you wish to choose your update method and give me some specs on what you want to display.

I tried the child window thing awhile back, but it seemed to confuse things having two sets of settings. I like the simplicity of the status window. Also, I'm not really sure what I would want to put in there, just wondered about it for future reference. However, I appreciate your offer to help and will keep you in mind for future projects should they occur (i.e. if I can ever get my settings editor tamed again!)
