Try making your trigger for them an ansi trigger and see if that helps.
Also, if you don't play in a colorful mud, you can turn your ansi control codes off. If your mud has a lot of colors in it though, this isn't a good solution.
You may also try just putting a tilde (~) in front of your pattern. Even if zmud has a problem showing the particular character as displayed from the mud, I think you can still trigger on it and the #SHOW it or something like that.

I don't have any difficulty seeing any of those 3 characters, and I can't find anything in Preferences that would disable them. How is the clock normally displayed? And are you able to see those characters when they are used elsewhere?
I suspect it's a terminal emulation problem. If they are intended to occupy a small section of the screen which doesn't scroll, or scrolls independently, using terminal control codes then I don't think zMUD does that. However, I might be wrong, in which case one of the more knowledgeable Gurus will hopefully correct me and tell us how it's done.
